Worshiping Saraswati or Saraswati Puja or Basantpanchami




India a country of festivals. Today is "Saraswati Puja" means Worshiping the Goddess of Education,, Knowledge, Culture. 
 
Today is day of worshiping Goddess Sarasawati.

Goddess Sarasawati is the Goddess of Vedas, Culture, Education, Science, Art, Culture, Music, Love, Painting and all Skills.

सरस्वति भगवती Sarasvati Bhagavatii
सुरासुरसेवितपादपङ्कजा,
करे विराजत्कमनीयपुस्तका ।
विरिञ्चिपत्नी कमलासनस्थिता,
सरस्वती नृत्यतु वाचि मे सदा ॥

Sura-Asura-Sevita-Paada-Pangkajaa,
Kare Viraajat-Kamaniiya-Pustakaa |
Virin.ci-Patnii Kamala-[A]asana-Sthitaa,
Sarasvatii Nrtyatu Vaaci Me Sadaa ||

Meaning:
Salutations to Devi Saraswati) Whose Lotus Feet is Served by the Devas and Asuras,
On Her Hand Shines a Beautiful Book!

Who is the Consort of Lord Brahma and Abides on a Lotus Seat,
O Devi Saraswati, Please Dance on my Speech, always!
It's also 'Basant Panchami' a day celebrated all over Indian sub - continent (India,Pakistan, Bangladesh, Srilanka, Nepal etc).

From today 40 day Holi starts in Mathura, Barsane, Gokul and all places of Krishna.

Festival of colour starts from today. Women - Men dressed in White use Gulal (Red perfumed powder) on the forehead and face of each other. They sing songs and dance together.
