महाभारत का यह श्लोक बताता है कि उस काल में भी गणों के शासन थे।
इससे सिद्ध होता है कि गण अर्थात रिपब्लिक यानि जनतंत्र उस दौर में भी था जिसका अंत राजशाही ने किया।
यह घटना बुद्ध से( 600 बीसी ) BC से बहुत पहले की है।
मथुरा में भी गणतंत्र था जिसका अंत कंस ने किया था, जिसे मारकर कृष्ण ने पुनः गणतंत्र की स्थापना की थी, जिसका चुना हुआ प्रमुख राजा कहलाता था।
कालांतर में वैशाली जनपद भी ऐसा ही था। वहाँ भी राजा का चुनाव होता था।
इसीलिये कहा जाता है कि महाभारत में एेतिहासिक प्रमाण भरे पड़े हैं केवल उन्हें कहानियों से अलग निकालने की जरूरत है ।

Which was defeated and taken over by the kings and Emperors.
Its the oldest evidence I have seen so far in the world history.
Mathura was a Republic too.
Which was over powered by Kansas.
By defeating and killing Kansas Krishna established Republic rule again.
King Ugrasen was the chief of Republic.
That's why it is said there is history in the stories of Mahabharata.
Only we have to collect them from the sea of Mahabharata like pearl.
